A Sure Thing

I have to confess that this is not really a thought that came to me while I was running. I am actually laying in the bed waiting on the rain to pass.

This morning's YouVersion verse of the day was this: *[[Mat 7:8]] KJV* For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

As I was writing that verse out to meditate on it, the thought came...."If you were ever looking for a sure thing, this is it!"

If we knew we would win the lottery, wouldn't we pay the $2 at the gas station for the card (I actually have no idea what they cost)? If we knew the stock market wouldn't crash, wouldn't we invest?

Actually, most of what we do in life is a big "gamble". We really don't know for sure that the actions we take will bring about the results that we would like. But if we have a promise like..."for everyone who asketh receiveth" coming from a God who CANNOT lie, why would we not pray, trust Him, and let Him work it out?

Granted, our God is not some big Santa Claus in the sky granting our every wish. But, we do know that "All things work together for good to them that love God." We can confidently ask, seek, and knock knowing that it is a sure thing that God will hear and take the BEST action for His child! ❤️❤️

Thinking Small

When my now 15-yr old daughter was younger, she had a few career aspirations that would make moms everywhere gasp.  At one point she said that she wanted to be a waitress.  Another time, quite boldly, she proclaimed to her grandmother that she wanted to "be the worker at the trash dump, because he gets to sit inside his little house all day and watch TV."  Probably the most scandalous was the time she dressed up like a hobo, brought a yard chair and her cup to the kitchen and proclaimed that she was "the people in front of Walmart who sell money".  Translation - she wanted to be one of the people outside of Walmart who asked for donations.  Sigh.....my teacher's heart just died a little here 😂 But, what if she was on to something.... The Guilt Voice

It's school time again and that means..................the DREADmill (Treadmill)!! I love to exercise in the mornings, so when you have to be at school at 7:30 in the morning, and since the sun suprisingly always comes up at 6:30 a.m., the treadmill will just have to be my friend :( Thankfully God's still small voice still reaches me on the treadmill, hence this blog post at 7:01 this morning. As I turned on my music and cranked up the speed, I was beating myself up again for something that I had no business feeling guilty about, but that's my thing, so I was feeling guilty.  Just a few minutes before, I was reading a devotional book by Alli Worthington called "Fierce Faith".  One portion I read was talking about how we would never say the negative things we say to ourselves to other people.  We are brutal on ourselves.
